A Song in a Storm

Water falls in lashes to carve furrows in thick soil. Gales strip trees down to logs. Veins of fire crash against the heavens, their booming voices felt in the bones of the earth below. No sound could penetrate the shrieks and howls and the pounding of the rain.

Deep within the maelstrom, an unheard whisper hints at a melody. It keeps time to the rhythm of thunder. It harmonizes with the groaning winds. It is a somber requiem to all those lost in that great god’s fist, that death incarnate, that unceasing roar which spells misery for any soul caught in its terrible grasp.

An unheard voice sings truth in darkness.
